Y2Mate is a simple online converter that turns a YouTube link into an MP3 or MP4 file you can keep. Everything happens in your browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to create.
Video and audio live in one place. Paste a link once, look at the qualities and their real file sizes, then choose what suits your phone, your data plan and your storage. You always know what you are saving before the download begins.
From a link to a file on your device in a few taps.
In the YouTube app, open the video and use Share, then Copy link. On a computer, select the address at the top of the browser and copy it. Shorts, youtu.be and YouTube Music links are fine too.
Paste the link into the box above. Y2Mate starts on its own as soon as a link is pasted. Open the MP4 or MP3 tab and check the file size beside each quality.
Tap the quality you want and wait a moment while the file is prepared. Then tap Download: the file goes to your Downloads folder and this page stays open.
Your browser saves the file like any other download.
Open the Files app or the Downloads app and look in the Downloads folder. Chrome also lists the file in its menu under Downloads. Music players and gallery apps usually find new MP3 and MP4 files by themselves.
Safari shows a download arrow next to the address bar while the file is saving. Tap it to see your downloads. Later, open the Files app and go to Downloads, where you can play, share or move the file.
Browsers on Windows, Mac and Linux save files to the Downloads folder unless you chose another place. Click the download icon in the toolbar to open the list and show the file in its folder.
A calm, simple converter that tells you what you get.
Y2Mate costs nothing and asks for no email, password or account. Open the page, paste a link and save your file.
Every quality shows its file size before you download, so you can take a smaller file on mobile data or a sharper one on Wi-Fi.
Choose any quality the video offers, from a tiny 144p file up to sharp Full HD 1080p for laptops and big screens.
Pick 320, 256 or 128 kbps for music, talks or podcasts. If you are not sure, take 320 kbps at the top of the list.
Big buttons, a paste button and a clear Download button make the converter easy to use with one thumb on Android and iPhone.
Paste a link to a YouTube Short and save it as MP4 or MP3. Vertical videos keep their shape, so they look right on your phone.
Yes. Y2Mate is free, and you do not have to pay or sign up to convert a video. Use it whenever you need it for videos you are allowed to save, on any phone, tablet or computer.
No. Y2Mate opens in the browser you already use, whether that is Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. You install nothing and register nowhere, so the box is ready as soon as the page loads.
MP4 comes in each quality the video has, starting at 144p and going up to 1080p. MP3 is offered at 320, 256 or 128 kbps. Each video quality shows its file size before you download anything.
Each file can be up to 2 GB. Long videos in 1080p can be large files, so every video quality shows its size first. To save storage or mobile data, simply choose a lower quality such as 480p or 360p.
Yes. Copy the link of a Short in the app or the browser and paste it into the box. You can save it as an MP4 video, which keeps its vertical shape, or as an MP3 file.
Yes. The page was designed for phones first. On iPhone and iPad it runs in Safari, and on Android in Chrome or whichever browser you prefer. Finished files land in the Files app or the Downloads folder.
A video that is private, deleted or blocked in some places cannot be saved. An error also appears when the link is incomplete or is not a YouTube video link. Copy the full link from YouTube and try again.
Please save only what you are allowed to keep: your own uploads, videos under a free license, or videos whose creator permits downloads. Copyright and YouTube's terms of service still apply when you use Y2Mate.
